Walk Past the Flip Flops and High Heels

Plantar fasciitis. Bunions. Hammertoe.

These are dirty words to the fitness enthusiast.

Where would we be without the strength of our feet? How would we run those miles, dance those salsa steps or pedal that elliptical machine?

Yet so many people take their feet for granted – until they need to see a doctor or a physical therapist.

And then they have to bid farewell to heels, pointy-toe shoes and non-supportive ballet flats.

My goal is to steer clear of any feet troubles. I’ve seen how it can ruin exercise routines. And once you take away my cardio, I’m a mess from stress.

That’s why you won’t see me wearing flip flops this summer. Not even the ones that sparkle with silver sequins and show off my rose painted toes.

When it comes to shoes, you get what you pay for.

Really.

It’s OK to spend a little money on your sandals this summer. Look for something that gives your arches some support. Go for comfort, not style.

Your feet, your knees and your hips will appreciate it.
