Periodized Training at Bon Secours In Motion Sports Performance
Are you training for an event and trying periodize your training?
Periodization is basically preventing overtraining and maximizing your performance so you “peak” when you need to perform. From endurance athletes to football players to sprinters, this is important information that could be the difference between you having a ‘good’ performance and a life-changing performance when it counts.
Peridization can be broken down into the Macrocycle (entire training year), the Mesocycle (weeks-months) and the Microcycle (1-4 weeks).
These three phases can be further broken down to a preparatory peroid, transitional period, competition period, and second transition period. And then THESE components can be broken down even further.
