How to Stay on Track With Your Fitness Goals
Tips from our new Watkins Centre Sports Performance Coordinator, Corey Anderson, CSCS
Summer time is right around the corner and everyone wants to look and feel their best! Are you still on track to meet your New Year’s Resolution? Or have you found yourself having to start over from where you were back in December or January? Here are a few quick tips to help keep you on track!
Find your support system! Find someone to share this adventure with! It could be a friend or a relative, someone who is going to be supportive and help hold you accountable. Training alone can be difficult and it is easy to break a promise to eat better or exercise regularly, but together you will be more likely to stick to your routine. You don’t want to let your partner down do you?!?!
Make exercise a habit not a chore. Fit exercise into your daily routine so that it becomes a habit, not a chore. Slowly start to build physical activity into your daily routine so that it becomes something you GET to do rather than something you HAVE to do. Exercise does not always mean making it to the gym. It can be something as simple as gardening or just going for a walk. Just move!
Try new things! Do you find yourself getting bored doing the same workout routine? Try new forms of exercise! Tired of running on the treadmill? Try a spin class, swimming, or circuit training; anything to help spice it up. This will keep your workouts from getting stale and your losing interest!
Use these tips to help keep you on the right track to achieving your fitness goals! For more information or to schedule with Corey, call (804)-325-8822.
