Experts In Motion – Meet Travis Jacques!

JocquesTravis Jacques, MPT,  is the Administrative Director of Rehabilitation Services of  Mary Immaculate Hospital and oversees In Motion at Denbigh and In Motion and Medsurg at Mary Immaculate.  He has been with Bon Secours In Motion since 2003 and has been in the Program Director role since 2008.

Travis attended JMU to get his BS in Health Sciences (Athletic Training) and went to ODU for Grad School (PT).  Go Monarchs! He specializes in Vestibular Rehab and has this to say “I love working with my dizzy (vestibular!) patients.  They get a whole new lease on life when their world stops spinning, so they are the most grateful and committed patients I’ve ever worked with.  They are rock stars!”  Travis, you are a rock star.

Kristin Thompson, the Program Director for Bon Secours In Motion’s ATC’s, has this to say about working with Travis, “Sharing an office with Travis is never dull – from bouncing ideas and picking each others’ brains to catching up on weekend and family gossip and finding new Pandora stations. As a professional, Travis is knowledgeable, dedicated, thoughtful, and caring – with his patients and with his staff. He’s an invaluable resource for me!”

Travis is a family man and stays active chasing his two year old around the house.  He is both an aspiring chinchilla farmer and triathlete who is currently on a mission…an all out campaign to convince his wife to get a family pet.  (C’mon, Melissa!). Travis and Melissa met on a blind date in NYC in 2001.  They met at the Info booth at Grand Central Station and took the day to see the city together.  Since then, they have been seeing everything else together and once Melissa gives in and gives him a dog, his life will be complete.

Thanks for all you do, Travis!
